Ego is a newer entry in the tool market and has positioned itself to offer cordless tools that carry the power of gasoline-powered models. Many users agree that it offers comparable power with a lot less noise output, and none of the smell, hassle, and nastiness of working with gasoline-powered tools.
One of the few disappointments that were frequently mentioned was battery supplement and replacement cost. It’s priced fairly high, but works quite well, and has pretty solid battery life. The GNL80300 provides up to 70 minutes of running time on its lowest speed, is a manageable 9 lbs in weight, so you’ll be able to use it for a while without tiring.
One of the great aspects of this unit is its low noise level (the GBL80300 has a “quiet” setting that drops the decibel output to around 60dB, which is about the same volume as typical conversation) relative to its solid power output. That’s great for those who don’t want to disturb their neighbors, or themselves!
It has a variable speed trigger that allows you to adjust the output, and a push-button start. Depending on your power level, you’ll get between 15 min and about 1 hour of battery life with the standard battery.
The whole Greenworks line is designed to allow users to swap out the removable, rechargeable battery between multiple tools – the series includes everything from lawnmowers to chainsaws. It’s a popular idea that a lot of users have embraced.
That said, the GBL80300 may be a bit of overkill for just drying your car, given its high price tag.
The Bottom Line

Black and Decker’s LSW221 is another lightweight model with an impressive 130 mph maximum speed. Although it works very well as a sweeper – yes, a sweeper- it doesn’t cross over that well to using it for drying your car.
Part of the problem is the smaller nozzle.
The small nozzle design concentrates the air output in a way that helps users get into nooks and crannies and corners and move out debris around their house, or perhaps on the inside of their car. And, that’s what reviewers like about it – it works like a champ on the porch or patio or in the garage.
However, moving water off your car needs more brute force and size than the LSW221 can offer.
The Bottom Line
Unless you are drying your motorcycle or are heavily invested in the whole Black and Decker 20V Max tool line (we love the Black + Decker Pole Saw!), this is not a good choice for our assigned task.
It’s a solid leaf blower, but just not the best for drying off your car. The battery time is nothing amazing, and the nozzle setup isn’t ideal.
