This set is really beautiful, with teak accents and an overall warm, modern vibe. Included in the set is an armchair with ottoman, a coffee table with a tempered glass top, and a five-piece sectional couch. These can easily be mixed and matched and reconfigured in a huge variety of ways.

This is really a complete outdoor furniture set at a very aggressive price. The sofa, chair, and table set are essentially the same as that found in the 9 Piece Genuine Ohana set (below). They are made of a powder coated aluminum frame, covered by a hand-woven resin wicker plastic material for durability and longevity.
Capable of handling up to 300 lbs, these chairs are sturdy and lightweight. They are very well thought out, modern furniture pieces with chunky flat arms, perfect for drinks. The bottoms of the pieces have stainless steel legs and furniture feet, so they will not damage decks and patios, however, there is no leveling adjustment available.
Cushions
The cushions are comfortable and thick and attach to the sofa frames with velcro straps. There are a variety of options for fabric, but we really suggest that if you’re going to spend a couple of thousand dollars on patio furniture, you might as well spend a bit more for the Sunbrella fabric.
The longevity of Sunbrella is unsurpassed, and the UV protection is a great benefit. The Spuncrylic fabric is fine, but the Sunbrella will last longer and is covered under a better warranty.
Dining Set
The dining table is a very strong addition to the mix in this set. It is made of the same construction as the rest of the units: powder coated aluminum frame, with resin wicker wrappings. The central part of the table is a single sheet of dark tinted glass. Beware, there is no hole for an umbrella in this table, so if you’d like an umbrella, you’ll need a cantilever umbrella.

The Harmonia Living Arden 8 Piece Set is one of the most expensive sets on our list, despite a smaller number of pieces than the competition. However, the quality of this furniture is outstanding, and Harmonia Living has done a fantastic job with their Arden set.
The Arden set is made with HDPE wicker, which is a higher-end material than standard PE wicker, and the cushions are made of Sunbrella fabric.

The Details
Seating
The seats are constructed of a powder coated aluminum frame wrapped in HDPE wicker in a chestnut brown finish. The HDPE wicker material is a nicer material than the PE wicker that most of the other sets on our list today use, and is a little bit more robust than PE.
The chair feet are made of Teak wood, which is a nice choice that warms up the set a bit more than, for example, the steel that Ohana uses. The teak does require maintenance, though, and should occasionally be sealed with a teak sealer.
Cushions
The cushions are a nice, satisfying 5″ in thickness, and are covered by Sunbrella fabric covers. There are several different color options of Sunbrella available, and the fabric covers include ties that hold the cushions to the wicker seats themselves.
The Sunbrella fabric is easily spot cleaned, and when needed, can be unzipped for machine washing. However, if you intend to machine-wash the cushion covers, be sure you line dry or dry on LOW heat, as high heat can shrink the covers, making them very difficult to fit over the cushions!
The cushion material itself is polyethylene foam, with a dacron cover to hold it together.
Table
The table is a wicker coffee table with a tempered glass top. Unfortunately, there is no storage with these coffee tables.
Cover and Accessories
No cover is included with the Harmonia Living Arden set, so you’ll need to pick up a furniture cover to protect your investment. While this set is very robust, it should still be covered whenever possible, especially if you know inclement weather is on the way.

The frame of the Ibiza patio set is made of durable lightweight aluminum, powder coated for protection from the elements. Covering the aluminum frame is hand-woven commercial grade PE resin wicker material, handcrafted in a modern Ash gray color. It is lovely. The chairs are quite sturdy, but they are surprisingly easy to move around, so you can reconfigure the set as needed for your patio.
The feet to the chairs are made of brushed aluminum, and feature furniture feet at the bottom to protect decks and patios from scratching. The feet do not have adjustable level screws, so if you’re on an uneven surface, you’ll have to figure something out.
The chaise lounges are adjustable, with 5 different angle settings. You can get just the perfect configuration for your body type!
Cushions
The seat cushions on the Ibiza set feature velcro clips that hold them to the wicker frames, and an anti-slip mat that is placed between the frame and the cushions for added stability. The Ohana patio furniture set is made of lightweight powder coated aluminum, covered with PE resin wicker in a handsome black shade that is not jet black and has just a slight bit of brown in it. The wicker is hand woven, and an extra layer of wicker around the seat bottom reinforces the seats for added strength and comfort.
These chairs are light enough to be moved around, but sturdy when sat upon. They will support up to 300lbs of weight. Each sectional unit is solid and well made and can handle most of what mother nature hurls at them.
The two chaise lounge units have four adjustable angle options, so you can dial in the perfect comfort position for your body. The sofa and chairs feature a pleasant 28″ tall backing, so the chairs have maximum comfort for your entire back while sitting on them.
Cushions
The clever sloped cushions are of high quality, and slope from 3.5″ to 7″. The cushions are attached to the wicker frame with Velcro strips. The seat cushions are 4″ thick and are comfortable. Ohana gives two fabric cover options: either a water-resistant Spuncrylic, or Sunbrella, and the covers have zippers and are machine washable.
Given the small price difference between the branded Sunbrella fabric and the generic fabric, we would definitely suggest stretching for the Sunbrella, as it will be worth it for the extra UV protection, and you’ll not have to spend time worrying about your outdoor cushions unless the weather is particularly nasty (and at that point you should cover it all anyway).
Covers and Accessories
When the weather gets nasty, Ohana has included two good quality protective covers that can be placed over the entire set when the weather requires it. There is one cover supplied for the main sofa and chairs, and another for the chaise lounges.
Ohana includes in its package a set of patio furniture clips, designed to attach the sectional pieces together to form larger furniture pieces. These handy clips will hold the pieces together and are fairly low profile.

The Radeway 7 Piece set is made up of a powder coated aluminum frame, covered by spun PVC resin wicker in a beautiful two-tone resin wicker weave. Each seat offers aluminum feet, and the overall weight of the chairs is not bad — they can be pretty easily moved around and reconfigured. The arms of the chairs are flat and are handy for placing drinks and small plates upon.
Cushions
The cushion color is Sand, and while the fabric is water resistant, it is not waterproof. When not in use, these cushions should be stored indoors, or in a deck box for protection. The cushion covers are easily removed and are machine washable, but Radeway suggests air drying them.
The cushions themselves are made of high-density poly foam about 4″ thick and are pleasantly comfortable but stiff. There is no way to tie the cushions down to the chairs, but you may be able to rig something up with Velcro. The good news is that the cushions fit pretty snugly in their positions.
Coffee Table/Ottoman
The coffee table/ottoman does double duty, depending on your needs. The package comes with two covers for the ottoman: a tempered glass piece if you wish to use it as a coffee table, and a matching cushion to the other chairs, should you wish to use it as an ottoman.
If you have an additional coffee table already, or want to use something like a fire pit table, you can use this as an ottoman. Should you need a coffee table, you can put the glass on and you’re good to go!

This one is a smaller 7 piece set and is very similar to the 9 piece set, however, it does not feature the two chaise lounges. Sure, the chaise lounges are a nice addition, but you could always purchase them individually at a later date.
The wicker is attractive black with just a hint of brown, and the cushions are available in the usual wide color array for which Ohana is known. For fabric, the covers come in both Spuncrylic and Sunbrella fabrics.

Materials
Resin Wicker Patio Furniture is generally broken down into three sets of materials: the frame materials (usually metal, occasionally PVC), the covering resin wicker material, and the cushion material.
Furniture Frame Material
Furniture frames are usually made of powder coated steel, with the higher end sets mostly made of powder coated aluminum. The frames are wrapped with resin wicker material for aesthetics, comfort, and durability. Both steel and aluminum are good choices for frame materials, though aluminum is lighter, making aluminum-framed furniture easier to move.

Wrapping Rattan Resin Wicker PVC
Rattan is a traditional woven material that is commonly used on indoor furniture, and occasionally on indoor furniture. It is weather-resistant and pretty. Most of the time when furniture companies use the words “rattan” and “wicker” in the context of outdoor furniture, they are referring to a PVC resin wicker rattan material. Rattan resin wicker is made of plastic, and this material is woven (usually) around a metal frame, to form a durable, weather resistant, sturdy furniture base. This material can last outdoors for years without fading and cracking, assuming it is properly cared for.
Cushions
We suggest bringing in outdoor cushions when not in use, or otherwise storing them in a deck box for protection from the elements. This will help keep them fresh and not smelling mildewy or moldy.
If you want to keep your cushions out in the weather, you could consider searching for some Sunbrella fabric, which is a higher end fabric capable of withstanding the elements. Most of the higher end furniture sets feature Sunbrella fabric cushions and when it is available, we generally favor using Sunbrella cushions over non-Sunbrella cushions. The UV protection of Sunbrella is outstanding, and the cushions will last longer outdoors. Additionally, Sunbrella is more weather-proof than most other outdoor fabrics, so it may actually be cheaper in the long run to purchase Sunbrella.

Flexible Configuration
The most important part of mid to high-end patio furniture is the flexibility of configuration offered by these sets.
In our list below, most of the rattan effect garden furniture sets come with between 6-14 pieces, with general seating for 6+ people. All of the sets on our list are sectional and can be reassembled in a wide variety of ways. Fabric Quality
As we mentioned above, when Sunbrella fabric is available, we suggest going for it. Most of these units offer good thick cushions and great comfort and longevity, as well as solid warranties. However, when you can get Sunbrella fabric, it’s the name brand, and it generally does last longer than other fabrics. In the grand scheme, the cost of a fabric upgrade is minimal on these sets, and for the most part, we suggest going Sunbrella when you can.
General Aesthetics
All of the sets on this best-of list are modern in design, with a great deal of style and simplicity. Virtually all the lines are straight and simple, and there are no excess finishes to mar the furniture shapes. The bold colors and woven rattan wicker fabrics bring character to the sets on this list, and they can fit anywhere from luxury modern patios, to high-end pool spaces, to shabby chic garden areas.
Cushion Attachment Mechanisms
One of the aspects you should consider when purchasing these packages is whether the cushion attaches properly to the seat frame. Some of the cheaper units do not supply any method to secure the cushion to the frame, and cushions may slip off, or blow off in a wind gust. While you may be able to jury rig something, many of the manufacturers do supply cushion attachment mechanisms, typically velcro straps, to secure everything.
Furniture Covers
When in doubt, assume you will need a cover, as you don’t want to cause damage to your patio set by leaving it out in the elements exposed for too long!
Cleaning PVC Wicker Rattan Patio Furniture
Acetic acid is the best cleaner for plastic resin wicker patio furniture, and it is very inexpensive and easily obtained in your kitchen cabinets. Acetic acid is made by diluting 1 cup white vinegar with 5-7 cups of water. Mix that up and wash down your furniture with a sponge and the acetic acid solution. From there, wipe dry with a clean sponge and water, and you’re good to go!
Rattan Cleaning Process
Here is a quick breakdown of the cleaning process for resin wicker outdoor furniture.
- Hose the furniture off with water
- Soak a sponge or rag in acetic acid solution
- Scrub the furniture with a sponge until clean
- Rinse with clean water from the garden hose
- Use a toothbrush to hit hard-to-reach spots
- Dry the furniture when done using a towel (you’ll avoid getting water spots if you do this rather than letting it air dry)
Usually, it’s easier to do multiple small cleanups of your furniture, rather than one large heavy cleaning every so often. By doing frequent quick cleanups and wipe downs, you will keep heavy buildup from getting onto the rattan wicker material, and make everything easy and quick to clean up. The more dirt is caked on, the harder it is to get off.
