Runner Up: Best Daybed Sectional Set

With a large footprint, cool sectional design, and a ton of options, the Husen Bellagio 4 Piece Outdoor Daybed sectional set is a great choice at a good price point.

The Husen has a circular configuration with two wedge ottomans and a third circular table/ottoman. All of the pieces come together should you want to use the Bellagio set to lay down upon, or they can separate if you are entertaining.

The Bellagio also has a nice canopy that supplies shade, which is a good feature.

Like the LexMod Taiji, we suggest that you keep these cushions away from the sun and rain whenever possible.

Budget Pick: Daybed Outdoor Furniture

The Tangkula Round Outdoor Daybed has a creative design and a great price point, though obviously there are some trade-offs. The Tangkula has a cool quadrant setup for its ottoman, and it can be configured in a variety of ways. It only is available in one color, and the cushions are significantly thinner than the competition.

Still, you could pay to have new cushions made in a stylish Sunbrella fabric, and still likely be under the price of some of the competition!

The Tangkula has a canopy, is a pretty good sized daybed, and hits a great price point. It is a great choice for those on a budget.

The LexMod Taiji is a beautiful outdoor daybed furniture piece. Two or three adults can comfortably fit on the unit, depending on how it is configured. It is fairly sturdy, though it is light weight. If you live in a windy area, you may want to take a look at our guide to patio furniture weights to help keep the Taiji in place.

The Taiji is constructed of all weather synthetic PE resin wicker in a deep espresso brown color, nearly black. The wicker is not the best quality, but it is fine and is designed to last outside. The frame is constructed of powder-coated aluminum and is light and easy to move. The frame should not rust.

There is a little round table on the side of the daybed that can be used to hold a drink, snack, book, etc. It does not open, but it is a cool design that is quite helpful for those sitting on the outdoor patio daybed.

The biggest concern of the LexMod Taiji are the cushions.

They are not a standard size and shape, and LexMod does not currently supply replacement cushions for these, and getting custom replacement cushions made will be costly. The cushions fade fairly quickly and are made of cotton.

In order to keep your cushions in the best condition possible, try the following steps:

• Spray Scotch Guard on all the cushions and pillows when you get them to help increase the water resistance of the fabric.
• Spray a UV Protectant onto the fabric.
• Store the cushions in a deck box or other storage area out of the sun and water when not in use
• Get a furniture cover for the Taiji if you plan on leaving it outside. We quite like the Classic Accessories Ravenna Large Patio Table Cover for this daybed.
• Get some Velcro to help hold the cushions to the frame.

The covers of the cushions are washable and can be machine washed with a light detergent. If you’re really concerned about the cushions fading in the sun, consider picking up a white cushion set.

The Bottom Line

The LexMod Taiji is a really great outdoor day bed, as long as you have a place to store the cushions when not in use. The frame is fine, the design is excellent, and the whole unit is comfortable. It is almost 6′ in diameter, so consider that size when you envision how it will look in your space.

The cushions are the concern on this patio day bed, as they are a custom shape and LexMod does not currently make replacements. Be sure you treat them with care and this furniture piece will be a great asset to your patio space!

The Details

The variety of configurations of the Husen Bellagio 4 Piece Outside Daybed set is the most significant strength. This top view gives a sense of the possibilities inherent in this system. All of the advantages of a sectional sofa in a circular daybed package, with a canopy on top as well!

The Bellagio 4 Piece Day bed will fit 4-5 adults, though it is heavily dependent on the configuration. This unit is quite sizable.

The wicker on the Bellagio outdoor day bed furniture sectional is PE resin wicker and is hand woven. The dark ash brown color is quite attractive, and has a very natural look to it, though it should be quite weather resistant.

Husen sells a furniture cover for this unit, or you could consider getting a Classic Accessories Ravenna Large Patio Table Cover for it, with a lifetime warranty.

The frame is made of aluminum and is corrosion resistant due to a powder-coated finish. The whole set stays together by use of sectional furniture clips, so you can attach pieces together as needed.

The cushions are a Nylon type material, and while they look fine, the aren’t the most comfortable out there. All of the cushion covers are removable and are washable. They tie to each other, and also to the furniture underneath, though you may want to use Velcro as well for an additional connection.

The cushions are fairly water-resistant, though you still may want to treat them with a UV Protecting spray. If you store them in a deck box or other small area, make sure you’re not bending the cushions too much, as they can warp and will look funny when everything is assembled again.

Assembly

Assembly is required, though it is not difficult. All of the required tools and instructions are included in the package. Assembly is pretty simple, as you’re largely just putting the pieces together like a puzzle.

You will receive a weird looking metal trapezoid that will make you scratch your head, wondering what it is for. It is to support the box and is trash.

The Bottom Line

The Tangkula Outdoor Patio Daybed is a surprising entry at its price point and has a lot of nice features in its favor.

The Tangkula functions as both a day bed and a couch with a two quadrant ottoman (can be split into half of the daybed, or into two quarters), and an attractive canopy that floats over the day bed for shade and shelter.

The fabric is only available in one color, a gentle off white. The Tangkula is limited in many ways, but its price point is impressive.

The Details

The Tangkula is made of black PE Resin Wicker, and the frame is made of powder coated steel. It should not rust, though if the powder coat fails, the steel will rust over time. The PE resin wicker is fine, though HDPE is better, and the steel is fine as well, though powder coated aluminum is better. At this price point, though, these materials seem appropriate.

The Tangukula outdoor daybed has a retractable sea shell style canopy that protects and shades those in the daybed. The canopy is removable, though it is hard to get on and off so don’t plan on taking it off frequently. It is attached to the day bed by a rod in the back, and velcro ties.

The cushion covers are machine-washable and can be cleaned using a mild detergent. The cushions are only 2″ thick and are definitely lacking. You may consider replacing these cushions with custom cushions in the future. You should plan to store them in a deck box or other place away from water and sun, as they are not particularly water resistant.

Assembly

The Tangkula outdoor daybed does need to be assembled, so be prepared for a bit of work. The biggest hassle is the canopy. Overall, the assembly process takes about 3-6 hours, and for the end parts, you’ll want two people.

The instructions are poor, and we encourage you to be careful when you take the pieces out of the boxes to ensure you know what piece goes where. Many pieces are poorly labeled, so pay attention as you take them out.

The Bottom Line

The Tangkula daybed outdoor furniture set is an odd design but is quite creative in many ways. We like the two-quadrant ottoman setup, as it allows for many configurations.

The assembly process is a bit of a chore, and the cushions are on the thin side, but for the price, this unit is a bargain and is our top budget daybed outdoor furniture selection. You could consider getting custom cushions made in the future, which would make this a much higher quality furniture piece.

The Details

The size of the Best Choice Products outdoor daybed furniture set is noticeably smaller than many of the other day beds on this list, clocking in at 5′ in diameter. This is large enough for two adults to lay on, though legs will likely be dangling over the edges of the circle. It is an excellent daybed, but beware that it is not particularly large!

The Best Choice Products patio daybed is built of PE resin wicker, tinted a beautiful ash gray. The frame is made of powder-coated steel, which is fine, though aluminum is preferable (and typically more expensive!) If the powder coat on the steel begins to deteriorate, the steel underneath will rust.

The cushions are a beige color and are fairly UV resistant. We encourage you to treat these cushions with Scotch Guard or another water-repellant spray and to store the cushions away when not needed so they will last as long as possible.

The covers on the cushions are easily removed and are washable.

The canvas canopy is retractable, but can only open halfway across the outside daybed. This amount of shade seems to be plenty to us. It is either fully opened or fully closed, and there is no way to open it partially.

The canopy is designed such that if it is not tied down, the springs open it right up.

The canopy is a white/off-white color and does not match the pillows and cushions exactly.

The Bottom Line

With only one color to choose from, the Best Choice Products outside daybed is not as adventurous as some of the other items on this list. Its size is also a significant negative. However, the price is right, and the ash brown color of the resin wicker is beautiful.

For those with a small patio space, this outdoor daybed furniture piece may be just what you need to complete your design! Swap some of the pillows out for more interesting colors and you’d have a winner at a great price point.

5. LexMod Siesta Outdoor Day Bed Wicker Patio Espresso Canopy Bed with Peridot Cushions

Take a rest in the heat of the daytime sun on the LexMod Siesta outdoor day bed with a retractable canopy. These units are one piece but are super cozy and very attractive.

With five color options, there is a good deal of variety here, though the setup of the Siesta is much simpler than that of many of the other sectional designs on this list, with an elliptical shape and beautiful color options.

The Details

The LexMod Siesta straddles the line between a daybed and an outdoor sofa. Its size is such that you can curl up and fall asleep in the comfortable interior, but it does not approach a bed in scale. Two people can lay on it, though most likely feet will be dangling off the edge.

Of course, this circumstance may not be a significant one, as many people are unlikely to be using this for overnight sleeping. Though the overall Siesta day bed dimension is 63″, there is a lip around it on all sides, and the actual cushion dimension is more like 53″.

The Siesta is made of PE Resin wicker in an espresso brown finish and is quite beautiful. It is built with a powder coated aluminum frame, which is the best frame material for a resin wicker patio day bed. The frame should not rust. It has no metal supports under the cushion, just the resin wicker.

However, the structure is solid, and it all seems to hang together like a hammock.

The cushions on the LexMod Siesta are solution-dyed polyester and are not ideal for outdoor use. They should not be left out in the sun or in the rain, as they will quickly deteriorate. As with the LexMod Taiji, we recommend treating the cushions the following way:

• Use Scotch Guard or similar on all pillows and the main cushion to increase the water resistance of the fabric.
• Spray a UV Protectant onto the cushions to protect against sun degradation.
• Store the cushions in a deck box or other storage area out of the sun and water when not in use

Because the LexMod Siesta is a single piece as opposed to a sectional outdoor daybed, you almost certainly want a furniture cover for this unit, as the cushion won’t easily fit in a deck box. The Classic Accessories Ravenna Patio Table Cover is an excellent choice and has a lifetime warranty.

The retractable canopy is attached to the unit and is not easily removable. It gets tied down when closed, and the look with the canopy down is quite clean and modern. The canopy will deteriorate if exposed to water too frequently, so it is always a good idea to cover the Siesta when not in use.

The Bottom Line

The LexMod Siesta is a nice outside day bed for those looking for a smaller scale unit. It has a very contemporary look, but the lack of sectional functionality and the small scale are two significant negatives, given the price point.

Still, it is a very funky, cool outdoor day bed, and is quite comfortable, with high-quality materials and an aluminum frame. Should you decide to go in this direction, we strongly encourage you to get a cover for the Siesta, as a cover is way cheaper than paying to reupholster the daybed!
