As many consumers know, Eagles Nest Outfitters hammocks are among the best hammocks on the market for durability, quality, and aesthetics. They are ideal for camping, trekking, trips to the beach, etc. But what if there are no trees around to mount the hammock to? A portable hammock stand will work great in these situations, and this article focuses on the Best Hammock Stand for ENO hammocks: the ENO SoloPod hammock stand [Amazon].
The ENO SoloPod is a great solution for those places where trees are not available or are impractical. The SoloPod is somewhat portable, yet very sturdy, and has a carefully-designed arch that ensures your back doesn’t suffer in any way. While it is pricey compared to some other hammock stands on the market, for many it will be the perfect companion to their beloved ENO Single or Doublenest.

SoloPod Hammock Stand for ENO DoubleNest: The Details
Aesthetics
The ENO SoloPod hammock stand is very easy on the eye, and it is clear that a lot of time and effort went into its design, compared to some of the others around. It’s powder coated matte black finish gives the stand a contemporary, modern look that blends in well with pretty much any surrounding. The more spectacular the scenery, the better it fits!
Functionality
Functionality is this stand’s middle name. It works well with any ENO hammock, whether it’s a single or a double, and its compact size makes it easy to transport too. However, this thing still weighs over 60 lbs, and a carrying case is not included. So although it’s quite compact, it’s still heavy, which may be a deal breaker for those planning on taking their stand trekking or hiking.
It’s easy enough to move for car camping, or for trips to the beach, but lugging a large duffel bag and 60lbs of stand around is no fun, so be sure to consider the weight, and if it will fit your needs.
Materials and Build Quality
If you already own an ENO hammock, then you’ll already know the quality of their goods is second to none, and their brand is top notch. The SoloPod is no different. This hammock stand was built for the outdoors and is one solid piece of furniture. It feels quite secure when in place, and is in no way unstable when correctly positioned. As it is made of steel, there are no issues about its durability either.
That said, be sure to occasionally check out the powder coat for signs of wear. Spray with Rustoleum paint over any areas where the powder coat wears thin, to keep rust away.
Assembly
There are only 8 pieces that make up the ENO portable hammock stand, so assembly is relatively simple. Most will be able to this together in less than 15 minutes, and no tools are required to do the job either. It can be helpful to check out the assembly instructions so you can see what you’ll be getting into, so if you want to view them, click here [PDF, ENO.com].
Cleaning and Maintenance
The SoloPod is not a cheap hammock stand, and you will really want to look after it as best you can, especially if it’s going to be kept outside all the time. This hammock stand is made from steel and is designed to be kept outdoors. For that reason, it’s quite easy to clean. Just give it a gentle scrub with a mild detergent and warm water, and then hosing it off with water afterward.
Scratches can also be repaired using a paintbrush and some Rustoleum or other similar paint. Keep an eye out for bare metal, as that’s where the dreaded rust will creep in.
If the SoloPod stand starts to squeak after a while, just tighten all its assembly points. If that doesn’t work, you may need to spray the joints with WD-40 or similar lubricant.
Accessories
The most important thing you’ll need to go with this stand is an ENO hammock itself! Both ENO SingleNest Hammocks [Amazon] and DoubleNest Hammocks [Amazon] will fit this stand.
The other item that may be helpful to go with this stand is a duffel bag. This 50″ x 30″ bag [Amazon] should fit the stand nicely, as should any 50″ x 30″ bag. If you plan on frequently moving the stand, having a nice bag makes things easier.
