Many who live in cities and dense urban areas don’t have much in the way of outdoor space to work with. However, often not much is needed, as long as you have some creativity! In this article we will look at eight dreamy balconies that would be absolutely fantastic to cozy up in and read a book, or to have a cup of cold brew with a friend.
Some of these balconies would cost a great deal of money to build or furnish, while others are quite simple and inexpensive.
Eight Dreamy Balconies
So come, bask in the sun with these eight lovely balconies!
Fabrics Take Center Stage
Though this balcony is reasonably large, the small two-seater bistro set in the corner is a beautiful touch. The tucked-away set allows the fabrics and plants to take center stage. We love the wooden click-lock flooring, and the simple textiles are so chic.
Privacy With Greenery
The most striking feature of this simple balcony is the built-in wooden separation wall. Presumably there is another unit on the other side of the wall, but this wooden structure works as a wonderful privacy panel, and an ideal palette for hanging plants from.
We also love the built in elevated raised planting beds, which works as a visual barrier and also brings the plant life right up to (seated) eye level. A modern bird feeder would be a nice addition to this space!
String Lanterns and Built in Wooden Seating
The luscious string of hanging lanterns and complementary lighting set the tone in this quiet balcony. We love the built-in bench, and it feels like it would be incredibly comfortable to sit down in this space. All of the furniture is small, and the half-moon table is a great solution for balcony eating.
Privacy and Openness in this Hammock Balcony
In a dense urban environment, there’s always a balance between privacy and openness in outdoor spaces. This beautiful balcony struck that balance with elegant lattice panels placed above the handrail, which works beautifully at blocking views but allowing light through. We love the circular outdoor rug and the aah-inspiring fringe hammock!
A wind chime would work wonders here.
Simple Furnishings in a Luxe Modern Balcony
This balcony embraces the modern with glass wall panels and a tile floor, and then gracefully complements the design with some simple, warm plants and classic mid-century Acapulco Chairs.
Balcony 6
With over-the-top views of the Tour Eiffel, this Parisian balcony is furnished with pretty much the only option: classic Fermob French garden furniture. One of our favorite furniture brands, Fermob has made classic modern patio furniture for decades. We love the red bistro set, and the cheerful color of the geometric “bent” planters in the background.
And the Eiffel Tower as well, course, we’ll take one of those too!
Balcony 7
From pricey Fermob to not-pricey Ikea! The simple metal bistro table, shade-sail-like fabric, and abundance of lovely string lighting make this balcony into a fantastic recharge-spot. Ikea!
Plant Wall Pouch in a Shadey Balcony Oasis
The dark colored ceiling, wall, and balcony wall give this space a unified, modern look. With a couple of ultra-modern outdoor wing chairs, the comfort here is supreme! We especially love the plant wall pouch system, and would love to see it gradually take over the entire wall.
